The Department of Community Development consists of a Director, Building Commissioner,
Electrical Inspector, Plumbing Inspector,
Fire Inspector, one part-time Engineer, one part-time Planner/Landscape Architect and Secretary.
Information pertaining to building and zoning requirements,
tree perservation/protection, special uses, zoning maps, variations, appeal processes and
applications/permits are available from this department.
The Department of Community Development and Building is
also responsible for the Architectural Commission, Plan and
Zoning Commission and Zoning Board of Appeals. Applications, procedures, submittal dates and other
information pertaining to these board and commissions are available
within the Department.

Construction Hours
All construction related activity shall be confined to the hours of 7:00AM and 7:00PM, Monday through Friday; 9:00AM and 5:00PM Saturdays, and 12:00 Noon and 5:00PM Sundays. Sunday hours must be observed on all national holidays.
Garage Sales
A Garage Sale is a sale of personal property in a residential district
conducted only by the owner of the premises without help from any person who
conducts such sales as a business. A permit can be obtained from the
Building Department, 361 Happ Road, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. There is no charge for the garage sale permit.
Estate Sales
An Estate Sale is a sale of personal property in a residential
district conducted with the assistance of a person who is paid for
such assistance or who conducts such sales as a business. If you plan to
hold an estate sale, a permit is required along with a fee. |
