In areas where an existing storm drainage ditch system is in place, a resident may request
that the ditch be replaced with a piped system. The piped system, if installed in lieu
of a ditch, shall be the maintenance responsibility of the Village.
If installed, the cost of these improvements shall be paid on a 50/50 cost-sharing
between the resident and the Village. Any culvert passing under a driveway, or other means
to access the property, shall be the sole responsbility of the homeowner.
Applications should submitted to the Public Works Department along with a $100.00
non-refundable fee. The Public Works Department will then inspect the potential site
to determine eligibility of the participant in the program. The cost-sharing program will
not be avaliable in situations where activities of the homeowner or previous owner
are the cause of the drainage problem. Project priority shall be based on the avaliability
of funds appropriated, with priority going to those projects that will provide the greatest
public benefit.
