64-gallon sizes. It is the only container permitted for use in disposing
of recyclable materials and is available by calling Waste Management at
1-800-796-9696.
There is a $1.00 per toter, per month rental fee, which is
billed direct to residents or a one-time purchase price of $50.00 per toter.
Most waste can be recycled including aluminum, steel and tin cans; glass
bottles and jars (brown, green and clear glass); plastic bottles including
soda, milk and water bottles, plastic laundry detergent containers,
shampoo bottles, deli and cosmetic containers, six and twelve pack plastic
rings, paper of all types including newspapers, magazines and catalogs,
telephone directories, boxes – cereal, tissue, frozen food, pizza; junk
mail, computer and copy paper and other mixed paper. Back door service is
available for an additional fee. Elderly and/or disabled residents can

Yard Waste Disposal |
|
Yard Waste is an optional service that must be contracted for with
Waste Management. It is collected weekly on Mondays from April through the
first week in December. Grass, leaves and garden waste must be kept separate
from other waste for disposal in a composting landfill. Customers must
collect yard waste in biodegradable paper bags. Paper bags are available at
most stores and need not have “Northfield” written on them. Residents also
have the option of placing yard waste in non-disposable plastic containers
clearly marked “yard waste”. Call Waste Management at 1-800-796-9696 for
information or a price schedule. |
