To the fullest extent permitted by law, the undersigned hereby agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Village of Northfield, its officials, agents and employees, against loss, damages, claims, suits, liabilities, judgments, cost and expenses (including attorney fees), which may be made or accrue against the Village of Northfield, its officers, agents or employees for damage to Employee’s personal property arising in whole or in part or in consequence of the Employee’s presence at, or use of, any Village facilities, except that arising out of the sole negligent or reckless conduct of the Village of Northfield, its officers, agents or employees. The undersigned shall, at his or her own expense, appear, defend and pay all charges of attorneys and all costs and other expenses arising from, or in connection with, such claims or suits. If any judgment is rendered against the Village of Northfield, its officers, agents or employees in any such action; the undersigned shall, at its own expense, satisfy and discharge the same.

The invalidity or unenforceability of any of these provisions shall not affect the validity or enforceability of the remainder of this Agreement.

I hereby acknowledge that I have been given access to the Village of Northfield's Employee Handbook updated 2/3/2020 and that I am responsible for reading and understanding the contents of such. I also acknowledge and understand that the Village of Northfield's Employee Handbook is not an employment contract, that I have not been promised any specified term of employment, and that my employment with the Village of Northfield is at will and can be terminated at any time. For sworn Police personnel, please see Section 17 of this Employee Handbook and the Rules and Regulations of the Board of Police Commissioners of the Village of Northfield.
