[ARCHIVED] Featured Business: The Happ Inn

WhatsNewHappInn

Located in the Village Center, The Happ Inn has become a neighborhood staple known for its inviting and dynamic atmosphere, fresh quality food, specialty craft beers and diverse wine list. This award-winning restaurant is the perfect place to meet friends and family for a casual dinner or to grab a cold beer and quick bite while watching the game on a flat screen TV in the bar.

The eclectic menu offers a variety of comfort food including juicy burgers, hand tossed wood-fired flatbreads, Mexican specialties, the “world famous” General Happ’s Fried Chicken and healthy salads. The restaurant also features many delicious gluten-free options.

The pandemic forced them to pivot in many different ways. They had to be flexible and imaginative while keeping morale high. They survived the summer and autumn months with reduced indoor seating and robust carryout, but especially with their tented covered patio in the Village Square parking lot. Patrons enjoyed dining al fresco with occasional live music and for a time it seemed almost normal. They now offer a fresh air front patio allowing them to seat a few tables with fresh air circulating the room. For those that prefer to order in, their full menu is available for carryout along with family meals and drink kits!

They want their patrons to know that The Happ Inn is taking every precaution possible to create a safe environment for you and our staff. They have installed Plasma Air’s state-of-the-art air filtration ionizers that use proactive air purification technologies to deactivate airborne viruses safely.

They are also continuing to enforce the following safety protocols, amongst many others, including checking the wellness of their staff daily, wearing masks at all times and hand washing regularly, providing hand sanitizing stations throughout the restaurant, socially distancing and cleaning between each seating, and more.

Above all else, The Happ Inn believes in creating a home away from home and recognizes that personalized service and attention to detail is what makes their customers, well, Happ-y. We hope 2021 will bring back indoor dining swiftly, but in the interim they would love to see your masked faces soon in their fresh air covered patio, but you can also support them through carryout seven days a week.

Happ Inn is located at 305 Happ Rd in the Northfield Village Square Mall. They are open for lunch 11:30am-2:30pm Mon-Fri and for dinner 4:30-8pm Mon-Sun. Limited seating. Call 847-784-9200 for reservations or visit thehappinn.com. Also, don’t forget about their sister restaurant Taco Nano located at 1743 Orchard Lane. Open Mon-Sat 11am-8pm for carryout.
