[ARCHIVED] Featured Business: Heritage Trail Mercantile

WhatsNewHeritageTrail

“Inspiration Awaits” is the greeting at the entrance to Heritage Trail Mercantile (HTM) in Northfield. This new location is truly a renaissance of a business. The former Heritage Trail Mall of Wilmette, founded by the Carlson family, is now open under the innovative and professional entrepreneurship of Lisa Carlson Chrisopolous.

HTM opened October 15, 2020 and despite opening in the midst of a pandemic, customers have felt comfortable coming to shop.  Their wide aisles, advanced air filtration system, and readily available hand sanitizers, lends HTM to a comfortable and safe shopping experience.

HTM showcases an eclectic, unique blend of wares from 42 different vendors. The well-lit, gallery-like setting is an expansive resource for fine antique oil paintings and other original artwork and sculpture. There is a wide variety of fine furniture, both vintage and antique, in addition to unique vintage home décor and lighting. Local designers often shop at HTM to find that perfect one-of-a-kind piece for their clients. Customers looking for a special gift have a plentiful selection of fine jewelry, designer costume jewelry, antique silver and porcelains to choose from.

The vendors at HTM are knowledgeable, experienced, and willing to assist customers as they shop. Many may be familiar as owners of past and present local businesses; Redefined Decor of Chicago, Dancing Bear Gallery and Dragonfly of Evanston, Southern Manner Design, Haus of Winnetka, The Quest of Wilmette, and their latest additions, Chicago Art Dealer and EMC Antiques of Chicago.

Owner Lisa Carlson Chrisopolous says, “Northfield is the perfect location for my new business venture. The community support has been overwhelming.”  They are very excited to be in their new Northfield home and invite you to come and be inspired!  HTM is open seven days a week at 190-B Northfield Road.
